6 Archive GitHub Repository in Zenodo
Follow these steps to archive your GitHub repository in Zenodo:
1. Create a Release in GitHub:
- Go to your GitHub repository.
- Click on the “Releases” tab.
- Draft a new release, providing necessary information.
- Publish the release.
2. Create a Zenodo Account:
- If not already done, create an account on Zenodo.
3. Connect GitHub and Zenodo:
- In Zenodo, navigate to the “GitHub Sync” tab.
- Authorize Zenodo to access your GitHub repositories.
4. Deposit from GitHub:
- In Zenodo, go to the “Upload” page.
- Select “GitHub” as the upload method.
- Choose the repository and release.
- Fill in metadata details.
- Start the upload.
5. Check the Archival Process:
- After completion, Zenodo will provide a DOI for your repository.
- Find the archived repository on your Zenodo profile.
6. Citation:
- Use the DOI to cite your GitHub repository in publications.
Now your GitHub repository is archived in Zenodo and can be referenced with a DOI.
